Mike Besant is a senior leader with more than 20 years of experience improving how buildings work across government, aviation, utilities, and commercial sectors. His career has focused on practical performance improvement, fixing systems, integrating data, reducing energy waste, and helping organisations understand what their estates are really doing.
He has delivered major operational and energy programmes at Heathrow, supported the Government Property Agency with service management and portfolio efficiency, and helped multiple UK government departments make better use of their assets. Following this, Mike started Streamline Project Delivery and Streamline Smart Buildings and is currently setting working on a new venture to decarbonise chilled transport and modular buildings.
Mike’s fractional journey didn’t begin with a perfect plan. It grew from learning through setbacks, adapting to rigid systems, and turning hard-won experience into opportunity.
